Last updated: July 22, 2026

Steps
- 1
Copy the link in the X app
Open the post containing the video, tap Share, and choose Copy link. Copy the post URL, not a profile URL or a link from a private message.
- 2
Open SSSXVid in Safari
Open sssxvid.com in Safari and choose X Video Downloader. The tool works directly in your browser without requiring login credentials.
- 3
Paste and submit the URL
Tap the link input field, paste the Twitter link, and tap Download. The tool will retrieve available video qualities.
- 4
Choose an available MP4 resolution
Select your preferred resolution from the available options. HD qualities appear when provided by the original post.
- 5
Find the file in Files app
Safari downloads the MP4 file to the Downloads folder in your iOS Files app by default.
- 6
Move the video to Photos
Open the file in Files, tap the Share icon, and select Save Video to make it appear in your Photos camera roll.
- 7
Verify playback
Open the saved video in Photos or Files to confirm full playback.
Safari and Files workflow on iOS
On iPhone and iPad, Safari saves downloaded files to the Files app first. Once downloaded, you can easily tap Share and select Save Video to add it to your Photos library.
Monitoring Safari download progress
After tapping the download button, watch the download arrow icon in Safari's address bar to ensure the video file finishes downloading completely.
If a download is interrupted, return to SSSXVid, paste the public link again, and start a fresh download.
Common download restrictions
The post must be publicly accessible on X. Private accounts, deleted tweets, and restricted posts cannot be downloaded. For posts with pictures only, use our Photo Downloader.
Using the guide on iPad
The same Safari workflow applies to iPadOS. The layout of the Files app and Share sheet may vary slightly, but the steps remain identical.
Storage and permissions
Ensure your iPhone has sufficient storage space to save the video. If Safari does not start downloading, check your browser permissions in iOS Settings.
Rights and attribution
Save only media you have permission to download. SSSXVid is an independent utility not affiliated with X Corp.
Questions users ask
How do I download a Twitter video on iPhone?
Copy the public post link from the X app, paste it into SSSXVid in Safari, choose an available MP4 and save it through Files. You can move it to Photos after the download completes.
Where does Safari save the video?
Safari normally uses the Downloads folder in Files, but the exact location follows your Safari download setting.
How do I move the file from Files to Photos?
Open the downloaded video in Files, use Share and choose Save Video when that action is available for the returned file.
Can I use the same guide on iPad?
Yes, the public-link and Safari steps are the same. The Files and Share layouts can differ slightly by iPadOS version.
Do I need an X Premium account?
No. SSSXVid does not require an X account or subscription to download public videos.
Why does the Save Video action not appear?
The download may not have completed, or the file is still transferring. Ensure the download is finished in Files before opening the Share sheet.
Can I download a protected Twitter video on iPhone?
No. SSSXVid processes public posts on X only and does not bypass protected-post access.
Why did the link expire before I saved it?
Download sessions are temporary. Submit the same public status URL again to generate a fresh download button.
