How to Download X (Twitter) Media
This guide covers the tested browser workflow for saving available media from a public X status post. X was formerly known as Twitter; the product uses X-first language while still accepting supported legacy status links.

Copy a public status link
Open the post in X, choose Share and copy the link. It should contain /status/ followed by a numeric ID. Do not paste a profile, search, list or wrapper URL.

Choose the matching SSSXVid tool
Use Video for MP4 files, Photo for image sets, GIF for GIF-style looping MP4 and MP3 when a public video has an audio track.

Paste and inspect the result
Submit the link and read the result header, file label, resolution, extension and render state. SSSXVid lists other media from the same post below the preferred role.

Download one file or an archive
Use an individual action for video, photo, GIF-style MP4 or MP3. A ZIP action appears only when the returned image set meets the configured limits.

Check the saved file
Open the MP4, image or MP3 after download. A file should be checked by how it opens and plays, not only by the extension shown in a filename.

Retry only with a fresh public link request
Download tokens expire. If a button stops working, submit the public status URL again; never send passwords, cookies or private page source to support.

What counts as a supported post
The input must be an HTTPS x.com or twitter.com status URL that points to a public post. A profile, home page, search result, list, direct message or third-party wrapper does not identify one downloadable status.
Protected posts are intentionally outside the workflow. If a public post later becomes unavailable, deleted or restricted, the gateway may no longer return the same media.
Downloading on a desktop browser
On desktop, copy the status link from X, open the relevant SSSXVid page and paste it into the form. Choose the file whose quality and extension match your need. The browser normally places the finished file in Downloads, although browser settings can change that location.
Downloading Twitter photos and GIF-style media
For a multi-photo post on X, review every image before using Download ZIP. For a Twitter GIF-style post, expect a looping MP4 source rather than a promised .gif file. A normal video is kept as video even when it looks like a short animation in the current X interface.
Extracting audio
The MP3 page can request a render only when the source video contains an audio track. A queued job shows progress, and a failed render should not remove source media that was extracted successfully.
When a download does not work
Check that the link is a status URL, the post is public and the post still opens on X. Deleted media, private posts, missing audio, gateway timeouts and expired tokens have different outcomes; the troubleshooting page maps each symptom to an action.
Permission and copyright
Download media you own or have permission to use. SSSXVid is not affiliated with X Corp, and downloading a public file does not change the source creator's copyright, privacy or licence terms.
Questions users ask
What is a public X status post?
It is a status that can be viewed publicly without protected-account access. SSSXVid does not process protected posts.
How do I copy an X post link?
Open the post in the X app or browser, choose Share, and select the copy-link action. Use the specific status URL rather than a profile or search URL.
Can I use an old Twitter URL?
A public twitter.com status URL can work as a legacy hostname when it matches the accepted pattern and the gateway supports it.
Where does a downloaded file go?
Desktop browsers usually use Downloads. iPhone Safari may use Files, and Android browsers commonly use Downloads before the file appears in Photos or Gallery.
Can I download a protected post?
No. The guide and tools cover public status posts only and do not request login cookies.
Why did the post return no media?
The post may be text-only, unavailable, deleted, restricted or outside the gateway capability. There is no downloadable file when no media asset is returned.
What happens to a Twitter GIF?
GIF-style media from a public post on X is supplied as the available looping MP4 source in V1, not as a promised .gif conversion.
Can I save media I do not own?
Download only media you own or have permission to use. The tool does not grant copyright, privacy or reposting rights.
