How to Download X (Twitter) Media
This guide covers how to save videos, photos, looping GIFs and audio from public X (Twitter) posts directly in your web browser.

Copy the public status link
Open the post in X, choose Share and copy the link. Ensure the link points to a single post status rather than a profile or search page.

Paste the URL into SSSXVid to view all downloadable resolutions and media formats returned for that post.

Click Download on your preferred format. Multi-image posts offer both single photo downloads and a convenient ZIP package.

Download sessions are temporary. If a download expires, simply paste the public link again to generate fresh download buttons.

Supported post formats
SSSXVid accepts HTTPS x.com and twitter.com links pointing to public posts. Profiles, home timelines, search results, lists, direct messages, and third-party wrapper domains are not supported.
Protected posts cannot be accessed. If a post is deleted or set to private on X, media extraction will not be possible.
Downloading on a desktop browser
On PC and Mac, copy the status link from Twitter or X, open SSSXVid in your browser, and paste the URL. Select the resolution or format you need. Completed files are saved directly to your browser's Downloads folder.
Downloading Twitter photos and looping GIFs
For multi-photo posts on X, you can review each image and download them individually or save the full set as a ZIP archive. Animated GIFs are delivered as looping MP4 files to ensure smooth playback and broad device compatibility.
Extracting audio from Twitter videos
Use the Twitter to MP3 tool when you need speech, podcasts, or music from a video post. If a video does not contain an audio track, SSSXVid will inform you and provide the original video instead.
Troubleshooting download issues

Download only media you own or have permission to save. SSSXVid is an independent tool not affiliated with X Corp. Downloading a file does not grant copyright or commercial reuse rights.

What is a public X status post?
It is a status that can be viewed publicly without protected-account access. SSSXVid does not process protected posts.
How do I copy an X post link?
Open the post in the X app or browser, choose Share, and select the copy-link action. Use the specific status URL rather than a profile or search URL.
Can I use an old Twitter URL?
Yes, public twitter.com status URLs are fully supported and automatically resolved.
Where does a downloaded file go?
Desktop browsers save files to Downloads. iPhone Safari uses Files (movable to Photos), and Android browsers save directly to Downloads.
Can I download a protected post?
No. SSSXVid only processes public status posts to protect creator privacy.
Why did the post return no media?
The post may be text-only, deleted, restricted, or contain unsupported media.
What happens to a Twitter GIF?
Twitter animated GIFs are delivered as high-compatibility looping MP4 video files.
Can I save media I do not own?
